Damn! New plugs for the TT are expensive. Do these things have gold tips or what? The first place I checked wanted $28 each for NGK's, I almost shit. At the dealer, I found bosch for $16 each. That still hurts.

Welp, I was just complaining. I bought them, I guess I should have shopped around but I need to change them.
Garrett! How often have you changed yours?

Adam, I've put a little more than 10k miles on the S4 since december 07, so I've not needed plugs. But if you drive spirited and have a chip you'll want to do them ever 20-30k. And they get torqued to 22 ft lbs!!! That's NOT very tight, make sure you shoot some PB Blaster in each hole before you remove the spark plugs, then start them out about half a turn then back down, and work that way... Only having you do that since it sounds like you've not done them before.

once you break them loose take the socket handle off makes it easier to not break anything. same going back in don't use a handle hand tight then torque wrench

They got done Sunday, thanks everyone for the comments. Adam came by and helped (did all the work actually) but I watched. I also need to change the coil packs, they are getting their fair share of abuse. Thanks to Adam for helping out, he has done this a million times and I am sure I could have figuredit out, but, he took a five our job (for me alone) and made it an hour. And I also got the best damn chocolate donut on top of it.

Don't change your coil packs unless you get a misfire... but you'll always want to carry a spare new one with you in case that happens.

Thanks for the offer, I am still contemplating that a lot of other maintenance issues and whether or not i want to invest and take them on or just get something else. I'm coming up on 90k miles and have a quite a few things to take care of:
haldex fluid and filter change rear brake rotors and pads (already bought but not motivated to install) spark plugs cabin filters front brakes and rotors soon some squeaking from the front end that I have no idea what's going (bushings or struts?) intermittent tail light that is out

Joe, get stuff done before you get behind the 8 ball. Before you know it it will be time to do your clutch and timing chains.... (Spoken of a VW/ Audi independent technician.
