Three cars I would consider scream enthusiast cars would be the S2000, a Z06 variant, and perhaps the RX-7/8.

The Z06 I believe for sure. Not convinced on the other two though. Maybe the RX7, but the 8 I have seen older women in them, and other folks that dont make me think they have the enthusiasts blood. The same with the honda. I have people in them that dont have that obvious enthusiast look. Those are both great cars though and have the performance factor for sure. But, I could be wrong too, I have been known to wrong quite often. Anyone agree with Clutch on those?

Definitely not, that boy is an idiot. Anyone who listens to him is a Michigan fan.
I put the S2000 and the Rotaries on the list because at least around here, they are quite rare, and I would consider them enthusiast cars because only a few people really understand them completely enough to buy them as a daily driver.

I see the point. My bad, I was considering what I encounter here and the 8's and 2000's are as common as flies. The 2000 especially. In fact most of them are driven by women that "appear" to middle age or older and just dont look like the kind of person that takes that bad boy screamin'. The vet though, yep, them are a bunch of en-thuse-iastistists.

the first two that come to mind are both triumphs.....The TR7 and the stag. My reason for saying this, is that both cars suffer from poor build quality. Owners quickly learn that the cars are not worth the cost of having them in a shop, so are forced to do their own repairs. Since here is no status involved in doing repairs on, and owning triumphs, with little collector value, it has to be a labor of love
Hi Buddy, glad you stopped by. As far as the triumphs, both are definitely candidates. I love the TR-6 myself. The old sk00l cars didnt come to mind, glad you brought them up! The TR6 was a better car, and was easier to like...that is why I did not choose it. Everyone likes nice classic sports cars. There is an image that the TR6 will enhance. The Stag and the TR7 were not so easy to like, so no one would drive them for the image. Another one I would pick, is a car I have always wanted. A 1969 lamborgini espada. They were bulky and funky looking. You either love it or hate it, and people who just love lambos for the image, will never look twice at one. For an American car, I think I would pick an AMC, AMX. They were not that popular, and so there are not many of them available. As with the others, it is out of the ordinary, and not om the "wish list" of most kids For Asian cars....it has to be the 240Z....because it is the coolest asian sports car ever. it was stripped down, and epitomized bare bones performance

But, as usual, you win where we disagree. I DO love the wedgie tr7 as well. Its just that it does not have that old sk00l look of the 6. Nevertheless, it is a killer looking car complete with all it's Triumphs issues .... Hard core enthusiast style. For me personally, LOVE anything lambo did up to (including) the countach. After that, no thanks. Its a style thing with me, not performance. The older lambos are just worth organ donation, they are that good. I also loved the javelin/AMX. I never owned one but I had close friends that did and the stories of the performance was mind boggling. One of the few things AMC did right, well, other than the pacer ... that was pure sex .... Im going to have to split with you on the 240. While I have to say that was a killer car, styling and cutting edge technology, it just cannot hold a candle to the first gen rx7. Mazda did something right there and they knew it. I LOVE the first gen 7's, especially a 1985 GSL with all the toys. Man, that brings back memories. So the datsuns were a pinnacle car, my vote goes for the old rx7.

my dad just found a first gen RX7, that had been rear ended. It runs good, but looks ugly. The woman said she would take $400 for it......I could see that engine and tranny in a 1967 datsun SRL 311, fairlady roadster
BTW....the original fairlady roadsters are another enthusiast car

Why does it look ugly? From the accident? I dont know how much I would pursue a 7 that was hit. As much as I love the styling, Im not sure about the structural integrity. A side note. My wife had an accident in her jetta yesterday. She was rear-ended by a camry. She called me to say she had a small dent in the bumper and the camry was trashed. She was pleased. Shes more hard core german car than me. So whats up with the 7? Rust? Paint in bad shape? Accident? Or just ugly? Yes and the fairlady is a helluva car. If I saw someone driving one around here, I would personally turn my ass around and follow them until I had a chance to talk to them. I like them that much.

both tail lights busted, and the panel between them wrinkled. the hit was not bad enough to trip the impact sensor....If I get it, it will jest be for the engine and tranny...like I said, a rotary would look good in a fairlady

Yep. The 84s were just as good, Im just saying if I had my way, I would get the last model year. No real convincing reason. Did you have any pics of yours? I forgot if you posted them up somewhere?

I'm not complaining, mine was free. Its only a GL, BUT that's easily changed... minor stuff like rear discs and suspension... At least mine isn't a 2 + 2 http://illinoiseuro.com/forum/index.php/topic,2163.0.htmlWhat's worse is you posted in that thread. LOL

Yes, the 2+2 was not a favorite of mine. I believe that was strictly to reduce insurance premiums by adding that famous "back" seat that supposedly makes you less of a risk. Yep. I am buying an RX7 to haul my kids around in. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight! My TT has back seats too, they are worse than the bimmers in size. NOTHING can fit back there but dust on the seats.
