Well, it has come time for the hosting and domain name to be renewed, and if I had the cash on hand I would never ask -  but I dont - and my 3 kids and wife have basically cleaned me out  - lol

So, this is the first (and hopefully last) IE hosting and domain cash drive - if you would like to donate anything, I dont care if its a quarter (yes, you can actually paypal a quarter of a dollar, someone actually did it to me - lol) it would be really really appreciated, and if you want some recognition we can make a post with all the people who donate - or we can keep it private, I dont care really, I just dont want to see the site die (and if it came down to it, I would take a loan out so I can keep it going - it will not die - I promise I will do my best to keep it alive!)

If you have extra cash - just laying around and you have no need for it - please paypal Adam@straightfocus.com and if there is anything above and beyond what the hosting and domain cost (about $100) I will use it for the club, maybe we can all get a gallon of gas to sniff or something - lol

Thanks for your support over the past year, and I hope we can have a GREAT (drama free) summer Smiley

Sincerely,

Adam

P.S. Please do not feel obligated to donate, your support of this site is obvious just by you coming here or coming out to meets and events - but if you can help, it would really help ;-)

shit 100$?Huh? i only pay 50$ a year through godaddy.....
which reminds me i have alot of extra space im not using right now....not sure when it expires or how much traffic is allowed but i would be more than willing to allow the site to be moved there at least until my hosting runs out if it becomes nessesary...if this is not hard to do....which it sort of is a pain and not really worth it but id thought id offer...

Totally appreciate the offer, but I have looked into Godaddy's offerings, but they are not for me - ever.

I used to own a web design company for about 5 years, so I kinda know what I am doing. The hosting does not actually cost $100 - but I also need money for the renewal of the domain which is through Godaddy - I have used them as the registrar for many years and have actually talked with the owner Bob many years ago, but that was when I had about 35 site domains with them Smiley

Thanks for the offer, but it would be a pain to change hosting, and then change back, I am sure that they do not offer what we have right now for the price.

I know this thread is old, but have you guys considered talking to any parts vendors or local shops about advertising on the site?  There's a whole list of these guys on here being promoted for free in the "good guys" thread! Maybe arranange for a sponsor to have a banner on the homepage? If you could get a few people willing to pay for advertising it would help cover costs.  Just an idea if it hasn't been tried yet.
