(Just wanted to share my post from the Miata site - I wish you guys would come out to an auto-x!)

It all started with this - except I painted the wheels:

I was not satisfied so I painted a little bit - lol:

Then, it was off to the auto-x, after doing plugs, wires, valve cover gasket, pads and rotors, some tires, an intake and I cut out the cat and put in a straight pipe, after that I thought I was ready - and when I got there I met a few very cool people. I helped out a little, and then waited until it was time to sign in and have a driver's meeting.

I have to say that after running with the Audi club and meeting lots of experienced drivers over there, and then coming over here, wow, your maps are way better, the cars are so much more fun to drive and the people are what really make it special - you guys ROCK!

Here is a guy that I hope will be kicking all of your arses in about 10 years or so ....

Here are some of the pics I shot, not all the cars, just the ones when I was working, but I have to say that I caught 2 DNF's and a cone killer while I was on my cell phone (the other 2 guys with me missed them all - lol) so even though I was taking a few pics I was seriously still working! - anyway, here we go .....

Some spectators:

One of our fearless leaders:

Good old #81:

This guy was super fast - but not the fastest I dont think:

Drift car, way too much power for his own good, and way too much for auto-x IMO:

Subie was pretty fast and smooth too:

One of Dave's car, highly modified and only beat me by about a second:

Its not just for Miata's - lol:

Although, the Miata's are the best:

See, look at that:

Even that wagons are doin it!:

Dave with the Miata, brought his buddy Adam with and his CRX - they both beat me Sad - lol, but they are both turbo'ed too!

So, after all was said and done, coming in 3rd was pretty good in my class, even though I think there was only 5 or 6 of us in that class, I was not last - lol

I did not take my time going home either, I was hungry .......  so I was did do a little speeding on the way home:

I know it was not smart to speed, but look at what I came home to - my wifey made me a treat!

Just so you know, that is my wife's homemade recipe for Banana Creme pie, and my wife is Italian so she likes to make everything from scratch kinda thing - all I can say is that right now, I am a happy man Smiley

You can do it with any car you feel comfortable with - seriously any car at all.
Lots of clubs offer events, Audi, VW, BMW clubs all have their own events.
I went with the Miata club yesterday - what a great time too.

I would suggest to come out with any club, and run an event just to see if you like it - its not easy, but it is a LOT of fun Smiley

That dude put that car together in 2 weekends I think - and he had R compound tires which were not hooking up at all like they should have! He beat me, but only by about a half a second!

Yes, it was fun, lots of fun, I would encourage you to come out too - there was a bad ass Z3 M roadster that had fastest time of the day - but he was on R compound tires too, and had a few nicely done mods too - his name is Drew and I am so bummed I did not get any snaps of his car Sad But I did tell him about IE so hopefully he will sign up!

Hey Adam (I didn't catch your name before, sorry),

This is Kacper, the guy with the GTI at the autox event. Thanks for lettin me know about this site.

That event was my first, it was lots of fun. I didn't know there was an Audi club around here hosting events, maybe I'll try those. Cya at the next one.

Very cool - glad you found your way here.

Just so you know there is also a VW club that has auto-x too - check out vwvortex.com for those events, and check out audichicago.org for the audi events, but I have to say after running with all the groups, the Miata club has what it takes!

Yeah I really liked the Miata event. Granted, I don't have any others to compare to, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I will probably stick  with the WCMC events.
