Chris,

Carl gave me two nice 635 model kits and I just started one.

My problem is that I screwed up the paint on the first one. I began by choosing exterior colors red for one, and black for the other. So what I did was spray painted the exterior red on one, nothing new there. I was careful to give is a light coating to preserve the lines and such. But when I tried to touch up the side, I got a blotch on the hood and trunk! I can get a pic, but, its pretty easy to envision.

I tried to remove the blotch with a small amount of paint remover which didnt work too well, nor, did it hurt anything, just nothing really came off. I then used a fine sandpaper to remove as much as I could. It has helped but I still have some blotching.

Any secrets you know to remove a small amount of blotching? Thanks!

i think you should let me build the model Grin

...i use DOT 3 brake fluid, get some, fill a plastic container with it, and put the body in... let it sit for a couple hours, and scrub it down in a bucket of water, paint should come off, WEAR GLOVES TOO!!!!!

or give the kit to me and i'll build it for ya. Wink

I would have thought brake fluid would eat the thing. Something new everyday

Done. I pack them up with the paints and next meet I'll hand them off.

I am looking forward to these because their first duty is to appear on my dashboard when the car goes to sharkfest. Then, they will retire as nice ornemants on my desk in my office.

Thanks Chris!
