Politics are realistically ruled by the rich, in my opinion, so why should I care?
No matter how I feel about something, the rules will always be dictated by the upper 1% of the population, so, I dont even bother voting, and I can not stand politics and what they have become.

How do you feel about the government that we all live under?

Do you vote? Or do you consider it a waste of time?

personally i dont like politics either... democrats, republicans , always talk about helping the people etc. etc. and they do nothing.

P.S. they should stop using 9/11 as an excuse. Issue: poverty, answer: well because of 9/11... blah blah blah!!!

I totally agree Chris!

These guys are in it for the cash, they will never care about "us" - unless it cost's them their paycheck of course, then it might have an impact on their lives!

I look at it this way. Politicians are in it for their own gain.
I just find it funny that the ones who claim to care so much create and maintain the very problems they "wish to solve". If they actually solved the problem (whatever it is) there would be no need to re-elect them.

Want an example? The Great Society. Led to 40 years of single party control of lawmaking decisions and at the end of it there was more poverty, more undereducated people, and more people dependent on the Government. People who are so poorly educated they don't even know we don't live in a Democracy. How are they going to know what questions to ask? Oh wait that was the plan, that's why the education system keeps getting dumbed down. We can't have the masses asking questions.

Oh yeah and who do you suppose those undereducated, poor, dependent people will vote for? The ones who say "we need to do more" (even though they chose not to do anything when they had the chance).

I understand your point, but I do not agree in some ways.

I feel as though our "liberty's" have been thrown out the window, and no matter how I vote (even if I had half the population behind me in agreement) politicians will still be corrupt - no matter how I feel/vote/think - again, this is just my opinion.

are you kidding me???

being a kid of an immigrant that came to this country with the clothes on his back and $5 in his pocket, you are killing me.

if you are eligible to vote and choose not to, no whining allowed. voting is your right fought by many men, women and underrepresented. there are still people today fighting and/or dying for the right to vote.

"They say: We leave you our deaths. Give them their meaning."
over 100 million other Americans who could vote will not vote come national election day.  that is a true stat as well as a pathetic statement.

there are all sorts of lame excuses from voter-apathy, dislike for the political system, no time and the most over used "I feel like my vote doesn't matter."

even if it does not lead to the election of a single candidate, your vote and every vote cast does matter. it matters to every person who has died for the fight of freedom and those fighting for our freedoms today.

i don't care what political party you vote for - just vote and stop complaining like a spoiled rotten brat.

how many walked miles in iraq fortheir first vote and wore the ink mark on their fingers to prove they voted? thousands. and why? because they know what it is to not have any freedom.

hopefully this one won't be deleted by the man Wink

Oh oh - I might have deleted it, but not on purpose!

If you were an admin, you would see that the "reply" and "remove" buttons are right next to each other - Sorry about that!

That is not how it happened, and I never left ETK, they banned me for life because I have strong opinions on how users should be treated. It would not be a good thing for this site to have a TOS (Terms of Service) and then I break them - not good.
