trying to research the ko4 but the vortex is just giving me a headache. anyone know pricing, where i can find one and so forth?

ok honestly dont get a k04 offline., my friends uncle owns a german car parts exporting business. hes not open to the public but he lets me in. he gave me a price quote on a genuine k04 for 800, no POS made in china or anything. straight from germany barg and werner. i forgot the name of the place, but its legit, he gives parts to most of the audi and bmw dealerships in chicago., he deals with audi, vw, mercedes, bmw, and a few others but i forgot what. let me know if ur intersted because i wanna pick up mine in spring. mayb he would give us a better deal

Don't you have the K03 Sport??  Going K04 would almost be pointless, if you do.  I was thinking of doing the same thing, but after reading up on it some more, I'll probably just get chipped and be happy.


i dont think i do, its just the sports package a4, i think my car just has suspension done. i think the usp is the k03sport?! not sure

From what I've read, 2001 and on A4s received the K03 Sport, putting out 170hp as opposed to the 150hp of past A4s.  Don't quote me on any of this, by any means.  I've read one tech say one thing on the subject, and a different tech say another...too confusing for me.  Half of the people think the HP gain is from valve timing, and the other half think it's because of a higher boost.

Your suspension might be stock, but I don't know.  2002 models were lower; and on top of that, you're FWD (not that there's anything wrong with that  Wink).

lool fronttrash sucks, but then again lets c who would win on a roll  Wink, yea 2002 is alottt lower then other years, 1.5inches  from what ive been told. i have upgraded shocks and sways form the factory, but now i have the rs4 sway with all that. my shocks r red, so yea i have the full sports suspension. the a4 b6 was made in a few options. mine was stock 170, but ive seen options on revo's website for 4 different 1.8t hp ratings and all for the a4, so that throws me off and confuses the hell out of me, and ive seen countless people on audizine with 02 b6 a4's running a k04 so i dunno lol im as lost as u r i guess.....

lool its kool, i think were both really confused about this, so lets just keep modding and pretent this never happened  Roll Eyes Grin lol, and what chip u going for? im all for  going to rennart  and stuff but they over price, i got a guy who does reflashes on the side, i found this out after i got mine done from rennart =[ lol. but he hooked my other friend up with a b6 a4 for cheap, i  forget how much , if ur really interested ill start bugging him about it

GIAC is kool, but i had no idea it was more aggressive. and yea i got my whole car done from rennart, its a good place i like it, but everything is just soo damn expensive there if ur on a tight budget like me =[

Yeah you should go with GIAC, Kolby. I have their Tip chip and ECU chip. When the car is running the way it should  Roll Eyes , it holds 18 PSI and peaks at 21. From what I've read on various forums and my personal experience I would say go with GIAC especially for the '01 model.

I've been to renn art a few times. They are definitly not cheap, but they are good people to deal with like Audistic said.

Yeah the tip chip is pretty expensive for the difference it makes. Luckily, I got the ecu and tip chip at the same time for a fair price. So I didn't end up paying so much for the tip chip. I definitly wouldn't have bought it off awe for $300 though.

i have to save up for a LSD before my car blows up again or i'd be all over this

i honestly dont no, theyre brand new k04's off of the rs4, basically the upgrade thats a direct bolt on fot the 1.8t motor, ill look into what trim now its gunna bug me lol, mever really thought abt it
