Its replacing my old laptop which was pretty sick too, 3.4ghz, 2gb ram, 17 inch screen, but that thing weighed 10 lbs and got 15 minutes of battery life. It also overheated and died twice daily. HP zd8000 piece of crap.
This comp hopefully will be a significant step up.

oh c'mon now....the cardboard box it came in was a step up - you had a PC for cryin out loud Mac FTMFW IT guys, do not try to defend the PC in this thread. this is only for happy mac addicts!!!! plus there really is nothing to say about a PC |

Spoken like a true MAC enthusiast.  ROFLCOPTER haha. My girl was a photomajor and praises about MAc's and their creative ish, yet I do just fine on my crappy CS2 lol. I do like the MAC's though, they are cute and all. Just not man enough for me to own one haha. I need a new laptop though and we are looking at macbooks since our old one has now become the car laptop used for vagcom, lemmingwinks, datlogging etc... |

 kinda strange that you see it that way - honestly i see it as more masculine since i've been in the printing/publishing/design world for the past 16 years and it is rare to work with other females - it is pretty much all guys in the industry and we are all on macs. currently i work with 24 people, 19 are guys.

See and from my angle being in school for one more week, all the girls have MAC's, guys, have.....really seems like all the college guys are poor haha, so they can't buy crap. Don't get me wrong, I will probably be buying a mac next.......but, only because Samantha wants one. She also has tons of photography experience from Columbia in Chicago, which they used nothing but MAC's so that has something to do with it as well.
